One of my affirmations in life is it can always be better and my passion is to help you figure out how to make this happen. I believe when we make a choice to expand our capacity to evolve and elevate ourselves to the next level of being, we develop stronger and healthier connections with others, the world and ourselves.
As a counsellor, I utilize a person-centered approach, where I walk along side clients and acknowledge that you are the expert in your own life. I strive to guide you towards self-determination and achieving a better sense of mental, physical and spiritual wellness. In working together, we will create a plan for improvement and use a collaborative approach in helping you reach your goals.
I have a strong emphasis of working with young females and adult women in areas around: life balance (managing the complexities and struggles related to being a student/professional), anxiety, depression, female focused concerns, trauma, addictions, family relationships, intimate partner abuse, in addition to a variety of other concerns.
As I sit with you in therapy, my treatment approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on how our thoughts and emotions can influence our ability to move forward in wellness, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interview (MI), Compassion-Focused Therapy and trauma work, Mindfulness and Seeking Safety strategies/ methods.
